We have been working on the renaissance for a while now and I have learned A LOT about them and got pretty interested in them too! I thought that when we started learning about them, it would be very boring but it wasn’t, I really enjoyed it. So when we started playing the game, it was really fun because we could learn and have fun at the same time because I really enjoy searching stuff in the web that we have to find, and when I find it, I love reading about all this interesting facts about the past.

In the game, we had stump and the blunder card. Some stump cards were very hard to do because we didn’t just have to search and find out what something is, we actually had to do work and it was very hard to find answers to stump cards. Ex: There was a stump car that our group got that we had to find 3 different houses from the renaissance and then draw it, It was very hard to even find a house from back then. Then, there were blunder cards, which we only had to research what something is or was today and write about it. Ex: our group had a blunder card which we had to see how watches we’re made and where it was created and when too, then write about it.

Saturday morning, the Kenya Airlines officially said that the plane has approximately 114 people, including 105 passengers from 23 countries. They found out this information by having Cameroon’s military dispatch helicopters from Douala airport to where the plane had crashed (Southern Cameroon). Just before the crash, they were flying over the forested area where they lost signal with the airlines. Villagers have said that they heard a large “boom” sound that night but no wreck or parts of the plane were found. Also, the plane crash may have happened because of the rain (the plane was delayed one hour because of the rain) but it is too early to really know what happened.

Well there isn’t really an issue, but this article is about a famous panda named

“Tai Shan” from China and he was sent to go to Washington D.C. at the National Zoo of Washington D.C. for 2 more years because they are sent there until the panda’s are about 2 years old and then they get sent back to China to start breeding but for Tai Shan it’s different because he is not ready to breed until he is about 5 or 6 years old. Many people visit Tai Shan in Washington now and is very popular.

Who is included?

Tai Shan, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Zhou Wenzhong, people in Washington, and also the people that work with him at the National Zoo of Washington D.C.

Tai Shan- The panda because he is the main reason of this article.

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty- declared “Panda Day” in Washington for Tai Shan

Zhou Wenzhong- China’s ambassador who let Tai Shan stay at Washington D.C.

People in Washington- Who go to the zoo just to see Tai Shan

Workers at National Zoo of Washington D.C.- help Tai Shan with feeding

What would you do if you were directly involved?

If I was involved in this situation, I would probably not bring Tai Shan back to China to breed because there are plenty other pandas that can breed, but I really dislike the fact that he has to go back because I would just keep him there at the Washington Zoo so that the zoo would get a lot of money because everyone from other countries would come in and want to see Tai Shan and so I would raise that money to charity.

I think that William Shakespeare was a very wise person because of his wonderful English poems and a wrote many plays. His mind was probably the wisest of his people because if it wasn’t for his great writing skills or the beautiful plays he wrote, the word would have never remembered him and also we would probably not have plays in this century. Shakespeare has wrote approximately 38 plays and 154 sonnets, as well as many poems. William is mostly non as a England’s national poet and also non as “Bard” or “Avon“. He produced most of his poems in 1586 and 1612. Shakespeare wasn’t so famous for his playwrights because he did not right many of them, but the ones that he did were magnificent tragedy and comedy plays not so much as his poems because his poems were mostly expressing love and feelings. So I think that Shakespeare is very important and special because he can write about many different things, and still be very successful.

Canada and The great lakes are coming into mostly The Midwest and Northeast. This is happening by mostly the winds of Canada pushing into mostly
Chicago also now known as, “The Wind City”. Reporters say that this is causing the city to feel like 14 degrees below zero. But in the beginning of the week they say that it was 30 degrees below zero! There were already 13 deaths and many were injured. Schools were closed, airports delays, and many highway accidents during rush hour. Also a cause in this is that the Department of Water Management was saying that about 2,350 reports of frozen pipes. Also part of The great plains, The southeast and also part of
Texas were hit and the gas and oil price “which heated their homes” went up because of the higher demand across the country. And upstate
New York got about 5 feet of snow. Reporters say that the temperatures will rise up by the end of this week.

Who is involved:

What would you do if you were directly involved?

Well, there wouldn’t be many things to do from this because we can not predict the weather or even control it. So if I were one of the residents from
Chicago, I would mainly be prepared before the winds came. Also I would not leave my house during rush hours because I would be most likely to get into a highway accident

I think that History/Social Studies is a very important subject that we need to have. It teaches us many things about the past and how it effects us now. It also teaches us all the famous people that did many fantastic things in the past. This subject is important to us today because we can cherish all the wonderful things that people like us did to make our world better. If I really think about it, if we didn’t have social studies, I wouldn’t know all the important people we know today. Also where many states and cities are located in the world. And all the important things that happened in some states of the world. There would be no reason to go somewhere like Rome or Greece because noone would really know why those places are so important if we didnt have social studies. All of these are some of so many reasons why we should have social studies and why it is important for us to learn it.
